The Dow Jones Industrial Average is up Wednesday afternoon with shares of Boeing and Merck leading the way for the price-weighted average. Shares of Boeing and Merck are contributing to the index’s intraday rally, as the Dow was most recently trading 150 points higher (0.4%). Boeing’s shares have climbed $7.59 (3.5%) while those of Merck are up $2.10 (2.9%), combining for an approximately 64-point bump for the Dow. Walgreens Boots Amgen Inc. and IBM are also contributing significantly to the gain. A $1 move in any of the benchmark’s 30 components results in a 6.58-point swing.
